This Kuyay Organic Dark Chocolate with goldenberry provides an explosion of flavors by combining the citrus flavor of golden gooseberry (cultivated in the Andes region) and chocolate.
Also known as the Physalis peruviana or aguaymanto, the goldenberry is a superfood. It was grown in the Sacred Valley of the Incas and is one of the five best foods produced in Peru.
This is a tree to bar product as the producers also owns the farm where the beans are actually grown in the Amazon.
The cocoa harvested on the farm is carried out all year round every 15 days at its exact point of maturation and then it is shelled and selected, then it is fermented in wooden crates sheltered with banana leaves and finally it is dried under shade.
